Developed with input from women pilots, its softly rounded silhouette, brushed gold titanium frame, and thoughtful fit features appeal to pilots of any gender. At just 17.5 grams, the Aviatrix FLT18 is Method Seven's lightest full frame pilot sunglass. Nonpolarized FLT18 polycarbonate lenses offer 18% visible light transmission (VLT), a versatile medium tint for most daylight flying conditions. Developed by M7 Labs in Santa Cruz, California, proprietary notch filtering balances colors, enhances contrast, and makes details in clouds, terrain, and flight instruments easier to distinguish. The neutral gray viewing tint preserves natural color appearance, while a blue flash mirror finish and anti reflective coating help manage harsh sunlight and distracting reflections. Full UV protection shields eyes from ultraviolet light. Unlike polarized sunglasses, FLT lenses help pilots read glass cockpit displays, GPS units, and tablets without polarization interference or distracting patterns in aircraft windows. The hand-tooled titanium frame features slim, low profile temples designed to fit comfortably beneath aviation headsets and flight helmets. Their thin construction helps preserve headset ear seals and noise attenuation while reducing audio leakage, pinching, and pressure during long flights. Specially designed tangle free nose pads help prevent hair from catching when sunglasses are pushed onto the head.
